July 2015 BuddhiBox Review
Guess what time it is! It’s time to dish on all the sweet goodies from July’s BuddhiBox! New to BB? It’s catered to peeps who enjoy yoga, healthy living, and mindfulness. This subscription box is set up so that each month you’ll receive 4-6 thoughtfully curated products (samples and full sized items) from ethically-sourced and socially conscious companies. BuddhiBox also chooses a charity to donate proceeds to each month. This month a portion of sales goes to support The One Love Movement, an organization that seeks to create a better future for at-risk & homeless youth populations locally and globally.
There are different subscription options that vary in price and get cheaper with duration, but the low commitment month-to-month option is $30.95/month. The sample size is $11.95/month. You can peep my past BuddhiBox reviews here.
This month’s goodie box, which I’ll delve into in just a bit, also came with a BuddhiBox info card with a inspirational quote by Thick Nhat Hanh on the back, a recipe for Vegan Sweet Potato brownies (yummers!), and an instructional card for Boat pose (love saving these!)… so many cute lil’ extras!
July’s BuddhiBox included:
October Fields Nag Champa Candle Tin* – I’m a candle fanatic – I use them throughout the day and every night during bath time. I’m also a big incense fan, and I pretty much exclusively use nag champa, so BAM… two faves in one! Aside from smelling rad, I love that this candle is soy (vegan), travel-friendly, and made in the USA.
October Fields Organic Vegan Lip Balm – This is a super basic, unisex lip balm made with organic sweet almond oil, organic jojoba oil, organic pumpkin seed oil, organic cocoa butter, candelilla wax, and vitamin e. I oftentimes like using unscented lip balm as an under eye treatment and/or facial moisturizer (is that weird?) in addition to using it on the lips. So yeah, that’s what I’ll be using this for… pretty much everything. 😉
Auromere Ayurvedic Massage Oil – I love this brand – they make wonderful vegan, non-toxic toothpaste! This was my first time trying their body oil, and it made my skin feel luurrrrrvely (I used it after a hot bath). Mad impressed it has 25 Ayurvedic oils, herbs, and botanical extracts! It does smell a teensy bit like play-doh, but not in a bad way, just a comfortable, familiar way. And my sniffer’s always smelling things in strange and unusual ways, so maybe it’s just me. BB subbers, what does it smell like to you?
Gypsy Soul Organics Freak of Nature Essential Oil Potion* – Ha, LOVE the name of this product! It’s generously sized and it smells wunderbar – very minty (I’m a HUGE mint fan). It actually contains all kinds of awesome smelling and energizing essential oils: Fir Needle, Bergamot, Clove, Cassia Root, Eucalyptus, Cedarwood, Lavadin, and Peppermint.
Erin’s Faces Firming Eye Gel* – This has super unique packaging (rollerball squeezy tube) – convenient for under eye application. It’s also chock full of skin-lovin’ yumminess: soothing organic aloe vera, wrinkle-fightin’ DMAE, and depuffing witch hazel.
Bear’s Beauty Zinc Sun Lover’s Cream – I haven’t used this yet, but I definitely appreciate all-natural, non-toxic sunscreen. I’m a little wary as to whether or not the zinc-iness factor will leave any white residue, as zinc-based sunscreens are notorious for this. I will be using it regardless, probably on my tiny tots, especially on these hot summery days.
Skinny Matcha Om Blend – So this tea didn’t make its way into this box on time, but BuddhiBox gave subscribers a heads up via an e-mail and a note inside the box. It’s on it’s way, though, and I’m excited to try – matcha tea is suuuuper healthy for you and it’s been quite awhile since I’ve had a cup.
I definitely recommend giving BuddhiBox a try – quality mindful products, amazing value. It would make a great gift for a friend, loved one, or yourself!
Do you think you’ll try BuddhiBox? What’s your favorite vegan and cruelty-free subscription box?
